In a recent tweet, Ujwal Keskar highlighted the importance of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) taking over the town planning scheme for Uruli Devachi and Phursungi villages. The proposal, which involves a waiver of Rs 1,000 crore in costs for the projects, aims to address the growing urbanization and infrastructure needs in these areas.

Keskar argued that PMC, with its expertise in urban development, is better equipped to handle the implementation of these plans compared to the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). He called for PMC to be reinstated as the Special Planning Authority for these villages to ensure efficient and effective development.

The urban development proposals for Uruli Devachi and Phursungi include provisions for low-income housing, green spaces, and road infrastructure. By reinstating PMC’s authority in managing these projects, Keskar emphasized the potential for significant positive impact on the communities in these villages.
