Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s visit to Pune today was certainly eventful as he addressed a range of pressing issues affecting the city. From crime prevention to infrastructure development, Pawar had a lot to say during his media interaction.

One of the key issues Pawar touched upon was the recent surge in criminal incidents, including the murder of a young woman in an IT company and the activities of the notorious “koyta” gangs. He expressed his disappointment with senior police officers for failing to effectively tackle these challenges, stressing the need for a more proactive approach to maintaining law and order in Pune.

On the development front, Pawar highlighted the need to address Pune’s traffic issues and commended the tax system reforms implemented by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. He also announced plans to purchase 200 new Tata buses for the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited to improve public transportation in the city.

In addition to these issues, Pawar also discussed matters related to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Ring Road developments, student hostel needs, and construction projects in Bopodi. He also announced an investigation into delays in teachers’ salary payments and hinted at the joining of various local leaders to the Nationalist Congress Party in the near future.

Overall, Pawar reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining public trust and driving Pune’s development forward, promising to work closely with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and senior police officers to address the city’s most pressing challenges.
