It’s been a whirlwind week for Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil as he finds himself in the midst of both a hunger strike and legal trouble. Patil, who began his hunger strike in Antarwali Sarati in Jalna district on July 20, is now on his fifth day without food.

But that’s not the only thing on Patil’s plate. A Pune court has issued an arrest warrant against him in connection with a cheating case involving a drama producer. The case dates back to 2013 when Patil and his associates allegedly failed to pay the agreed amount for a play they organized.

Despite being summoned twice by the court, Patil failed to appear due to his involvement in the Maratha reservation agitation. This led to the issuance of a non-bailable warrant against him and his two co-accused, Arjun Prasad Jadhav and Datta Bahir. However, Patil eventually appeared in court and paid a Rs 500 fine, resulting in the cancellation of the warrant.

In the midst of all this legal drama, Patil continues his hunger strike as part of his ongoing efforts to secure Maratha reservation. He is demanding the enactment of legislation for Maratha reservation and the withdrawal of cases filed against Maratha reservation protestors.

It remains to be seen how these two battles will play out for Manoj Jarange Patil, but one thing is for sure – he is not backing down in his fight for Maratha reservation.
