Hey Baner residents, have you heard the latest news from our neighborhood? The Baner Police Station, which is newly established, has wasted no time in getting down to business. They recently made an arrest of a group of individuals, including minors, who were involved in the robbery of a woman from Nagaland in the Baner Hill area.
The incident took place on 13th October around 4:15 PM when the woman was walking with her friend and was robbed by four unknown assailants. The case was initially registered at Chaturshringi Police Station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Maharashtra Police Act of 1951. However, it was later transferred to the Baner Police Station for further investigation.
The main suspect, Vishal Prabhakar Samukhrao, also known as Drapet, along with two minors, was apprehended by the Baner Police’s Detection Branch. Reports suggest that the group verbally abused and physically assaulted the women with iron rods before robbing them of valuables worth Rs 51,000, including an iPhone and a bag.
Thanks to information from confidential sources, the police were able to track down the suspects and recover the stolen items, along with the weapons used in the attack and the motorcycle involved. The total value of the recovered items is estimated to be Rs 1,10,700. The Baner Police are currently continuing their investigation into the matter.
Kudos to the Baner Police team, led by Senior Police Inspectors Mahesh Balkotgi and Vijayanand Patil, along with other dedicated officers from both Chaturshringi and Baner Police Stations, for their swift action and successful operation. Let’s hope this sends a strong message to anyone thinking of causing trouble in our peaceful neighborhood.
