With the State Assembly election results set to be declared on Saturday (November 23), supporters of various State leaders in Pune have already started displaying banners congratulating them for winning the election and becoming ministers. One NCP (AP) leader even went as far as putting up billboards congratulating Ajit Pawar for becoming the Chief Minister, sparking discussions in political circles.
The banners, with messages like ‘Vikasacha vada Ajit Dada’ and ‘Mukhyamantri Namdar Ajitdada Pawar prachand bahumatane vijai zalyabaddal Hardik abhinandan’, were quickly taken down after being put up in the Market Yard area by NCP (AP) leader Santosh Nangre. The Maha Yuti, on the other hand, has yet to declare its Chief Minister’s face, but NCP (AP) leaders seem to be jumping the gun by proclaiming their leader as the Chief Minister before the results are even out.
Posts about the banners have been circulating on social media, but they were swiftly removed, leaving people wondering about the implications of the increased voter turnout of 65.11% in the elections. The Maha Yuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliances campaigned vigorously on various issues, and now all eyes are on the results that will be announced on November 23.
