In a recent announcement by NCP (SP) State President Jayant Patil, the first list of 45 party candidates was revealed on Thursday, October 24. Among them, former NCP MLA Bapu Pathare has been selected to contest from Vadgaon Sheri. Pathare, who has a long history in politics starting from a village sarpanch to a legislator, is eager to prove his influence over his constituency once again.
Pathare, who previously held positions such as Panchayat Samiti member, ZP member, and corporator, expressed his confidence in winning the upcoming election. He stated, “Sharad Pawar has shown trust in me earlier too. People from Vadgaon Sheri trust me. Therefore, I will definitely win in this election.”
Emphasizing on the development plank, Pathare highlighted the issues faced by residents in the past decade, particularly focusing on solving traffic problems in the area. Responding to sitting MLA Sunil Tingre’s claims of bringing the highest funds for the constituency, Pathare dismissed them by stating, “His funds exist only on paper. It is not to be seen anywhere in the constituency. If he has brought so much money, then where has it gone? Citizens are not happy as nothing has been done in the past several years. They want a change now.”
With the election season heating up, the battle for Vadgaon Sheri is set to be an interesting one, with Pathare vowing to bring about positive change and development for the residents. Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming elections in Pune.
