Police were called to a cremation ground on November 16 after reports of a burning body and bloodstained wood nearby. Yikes! Upon arrival, they found partially burned bones and fresh blood, sparking suspicions of foul play.
As the investigation unfolded, it was revealed that the wood used at the site came from a lumberyard in Phaltan. Following this lead, the police were able to connect the dots and identify the suspects involved in the crime. Turns out, they confessed to murdering Jagtap because they believed he had inappropriate intentions towards a female relative of one of the accused. And to cover up their tracks, they decided to burn his body at the cremation ground.
