Hey there, folks! Here’s the latest scoop from the Bombay High Court regarding the Pune Porsche crash case. So, the court recently turned down a request for urgent relief for the minor involved in the incident. The minor’s aunt had filed a habeas corpus petition, claiming that he was being unlawfully detained and not being treated according to the Juvenile Justice Act.

The aunt made a strong case for the release of the minor, emphasizing that it was an accident and that the driver was just a kid. She wanted the court to quash the remand orders issued by the magistrate and juvenile justice board. She also accused the police of bungling the investigation, which goes against the objectives of the Juvenile Justice Act.

On the other side, the public prosecutor argued that the minor was not in jail but in an observation home, so there was no need for immediate release. The minor’s lawyer, however, pressed for his immediate release, pointing out that as a juvenile, he shouldn’t be detained.

The judges, Bharati Dangre and Manjusha Deshpande, decided that there was no need for an interim order as the minor had already been in the observation home since May 21. They scheduled a further hearing on the matter for June 20.

Just a quick recap – the incident took place on May 19, when the minor, allegedly driving a Porsche under the influence, crashed into a bike, resulting in the tragic deaths of two young IT professionals. Stay tuned for more updates on this case!
