Exciting news for tourists and locals in the Shirur Lok Sabha constituency as the Maharashtra state cabinet has given the green light to four ropeway projects, including ones at popular spots like Shivneri and Lenyadri. These projects, which have been eagerly awaited for years, are finally moving forward thanks to the central government’s Parvatmala Yojana.

MP Dr. Amol Kolhe had been pushing for these projects and after requesting Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s support, the funding was secured under the Parvatmala scheme. The state government submitted proposals for ropeway construction at various locations, with a total of 16 in Pune district and 29 across Maharashtra.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed last year between the National Highways Logistics Management Ltd. and the Maharashtra government, paving the way for these projects. The recent approval from the state cabinet means that land availability and financial contributions are now in place.

Dr. Kolhe highlighted the positive impact these ropeways will have on tourism and employment opportunities in the region. He also expressed gratitude to Minister Gadkari and the state government for their support.

In addition to the ropeway projects, Dr. Kolhe is also pushing for the ‘Shiv-Shambhu Corridor’, a road network that will connect key tourist sites in the area. This initiative, if approved, will further enhance connectivity and tourism in the region.

Overall, these developments are set to bring a significant boost to tourism and the local economy in the Shirur Lok Sabha constituency. Exciting times ahead for all those involved!
