A terrifying incident unfolded in a small village in Alandi on Sunday when a family fell victim to a brutal robbery. The father had gone to participate in the Kartiki Ekadashi Wari, leaving his wife and two sons at home. In the dead of night, the sons were awakened by their mother’s screams, prompting them to investigate.

To their horror, they found the door locked from the outside. When they attempted to force it open, they were met with threats and abuse from an unknown assailant. Thinking quickly, the sons opened the windows and called for help from their cousins. Upon their arrival, the suspects fled the scene.

The robbers had subjected the mother to a brutal attack, cutting her earlobes to steal her earrings. They also ransacked the house, making off with a bag containing Rs 3,000, jewelry, and clothes. Although the bag was later recovered in a nearby sugarcane farm, the cash and jewelry were nowhere to be found.

Senior Inspector Sandesh Kenjale of the Shirur police assured the media that a case had been filed under Section 309 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and that efforts were underway to track down the perpetrators. The family is left shaken by the traumatic experience, highlighting the need for increased security measures in the area.
