Hey there, folks! Big news coming in from Kothrud today! Minister of Higher and Technical Education of Maharashtra, Chandrakant Patil, has clinched victory in the Kothrud constituency with a whopping lead of over 80,000 votes. He was up against Shiv Sena candidate Chandrakant Mokate, but Patil’s win was pretty much expected, especially after former corporator Amol Balwadkar threw his support behind him.

Kothrud has always been a stronghold for the BJP, so it was no surprise that Patil, who was the BJP candidate for the second time in a row, secured the win. Originally hailing from Kolhapur, Patil first contested from Kothrud back in 2019. This time around, he faced a minor hiccup when former corporator Amol Balwadkar vied for the candidacy, but after some discussions and negotiations, Balwadkar stepped back, paving the way for Patil’s smooth campaign.

With a total of 4.31 lakh registered voters in Kothrud, the voter turnout stood at 52.18%. With such a low turnout, it was pretty much a given that Patil would emerge victorious, and he did so with flying colors.

So there you have it, folks – Chandrakant Patil retains his grip on Kothrud. Stay tuned for more updates!
