Well, folks, it seems like things got pretty heated in Pune recently! An alleged RTI activist got on the wrong side of a former female corporator from the BJP and ended up getting a beating with footwear in the PMC Main Building. The reason? The activist was apparently causing a hindrance to a tribal girls’ hostel project in Baner, which the corporator has been diligently following up on for years.

The project, valued at Rs 2 crore, is nearing completion, but the final phase is still pending a work order from the PMC. When the former corporator went to discuss this issue with officials, the RTI activist showed up and things quickly escalated into a heated argument. In a moment of rage, the corporator lashed out with her footwear, causing chaos in the building.

To add more drama to the scene, the former Pune City President of the BJP also got involved in trying to calm things down. It turns out that the RTI activist is linked to a Congress leader in Pune and has a history of using the RTI Act to harass officials with political support. He had even submitted letters to the PMC to halt the hostel project, which is why the corporator lashed out.

Looks like politics and development work don’t always mix well in Pune! Stay tuned for more updates on this dramatic incident.
