Hey Pune peeps! It looks like Mother Nature is really testing us with these non-stop rains, am I right? The recent cloudburst-like rains have been wreaking havoc in Pune City and District, causing some major water level increases in our dams.

The Khadakwasla Dam chain is currently sitting at a whopping 92.58% of its storage capacity, holding a massive 26.99 TMC of water. And with all that water, 25,000 cusecs had to be released into the Mutha River, leading to some unfortunate water entering houses in riverside societies along Sinhagad Road. Yikes!

But fear not, Punekars, our very own Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde paid a visit to Ekta Nagari on Sinhagad Road to check in on the situation. During his visit, a young boy caught everyone’s attention with his heartfelt plea on a placard asking for a wall to be built to protect their homes. Chief Minister Shinde, being the compassionate leader that he is, assured the boy that he would do his best to make it happen.

So there you have it, folks. The rains may be causing some trouble, but our leaders are on the case. Stay safe out there, Pune!
