Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is not playing around when it comes to infrastructure and development projects in the state. During a recent NITI Aayog meeting, he made a direct appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for support on key initiatives.
One of the major projects on Chief Minister Shinde’s radar is the Nashik-Pune Railway. He’s pushing for this project to get off the ground quickly, recognizing the importance of efficient transportation in the state. He’s also keeping an eye on the Chiplun-Karad project, the Thane Metro, and the Mumbai Funnel Zone, emphasizing the need for timely completion.
But it’s not just about trains and metros for Chief Minister Shinde. He’s also focused on improving living conditions for Maharashtra’s residents. The state government is leading the charge on large-scale redevelopment projects, aiming to revamp old and dilapidated buildings in Mumbai and beyond. When it comes to road infrastructure, Chief Minister Shinde is all about progress. The Konkan Coastal Road and Konkan Green Field Expressway are in the works, with plans for a 5,000 km access control grid to boost connectivity across Maharashtra. Chief Minister Shinde has his sights set on some immediate priorities, like kickstarting the Nashik-Pune railway project and ironing out issues in the Mumbai Funnel Zone. He’s even thinking ahead to future developments, proposing a new quadrangle similar to Marine Drive to optimize the use of valuable BPT land.
