It seems like the Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is really focused on improving transportation infrastructure in the state. In a recent review meeting, he directed the PMRDA and district administration to come up with a connectivity plan for the proposed Purandar airport. This plan aims to provide direct access from the Pune Satara and Ahmednagar highways to the airport, making it easier for travelers from Western Maharashtra to reach their destination without having to go through Pune city.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Fadnavis also discussed the progress of the Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro Line and the University Chowk flyover. He confirmed that the state government has approved the necessary land allotments for these projects and instructed the administration to speed up the process.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar also highlighted the need for 500 additional CNG buses for the PMPML to meet the growing demand for public transportation in Pune. In addition, a ₹200 crore fund has been allocated for the construction of cement concrete roads in key industrial areas like Hinjewadi and Ranjangaon to improve connectivity in these regions.
It’s clear that the government is prioritizing infrastructure development to enhance connectivity and streamline traffic flow. The focus on improving transportation networks will not only benefit travelers but also support the region’s aviation growth and urban development projects. With these initiatives in place, Maharashtra is on track to become a more accessible and efficient state for both residents and visitors alike.
