Balasaheb Chandanshive, a dedicated social worker from the Gharkul area, has been making waves with his tireless efforts to keep the area clean. Teaming up with Janwani and their crew, they have been working around the clock to monitor and coordinate cleanup efforts, ensuring that the area remains spick and span.

Thanks to their hard work, local residents have been getting involved in awareness campaigns focused on waste collection and segregation. The result? A significant reduction in waste dumping and a complete transformation of the area. Seating benches and a rickshaw stand have been installed, giving the once neglected spot a new lease on life as a clean and inviting public space.

During a recent felicitation ceremony at the Swachh Cultural Fest, PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh couldn’t help but applaud the community’s efforts. He emphasized the importance of community participation in keeping our surroundings clean and praised the transformation of the previously troublesome Garbage Vulnerable Point.

Assistant Commissioner Ajinkya Yele also chimed in, highlighting the power of community-driven solutions and the positive impact of collaboration between the municipal corporation and its citizens.

The key achievements of this community-driven initiative speak for themselves. What was once a notorious dumping ground near Spine Road, Gharkul Gate No. 1 is now a shining example of what can be achieved through collective action. Residents of Sharad Nagar and Tuljai Nagar have taken ownership of their surroundings, resulting in reduced waste disposal, a cleaner environment, and a beautifully beautified space for everyone to enjoy.
