- The controversy stems from an earlier incident at Bindass Live Orchestra in Panvel, Navi Mumbai, where Gite and his friend were allegedly involved in an altercation with Nirmal Harihar and his friends.
- Gite later filed a complaint via email at the Panvel Taluka Police Station, claiming that Harihar had snatched a gold chain worth Rs 90,000 from him.
- The police have stated that both parties have submitted conflicting complaints and a case has been registered against Nirmal Harihar at the New Panvel Police Station.
