Hey there, folks! Buckle up for a juicy piece of news coming straight out of Wakad. A student recently spilled the beans on some shady dealings at the Wakad Traffic Division, and boy, is it a doozy!

So, here’s the scoop: this student was minding their own business, riding their motorcycle near Wakad Bridge, when they got pulled over by a traffic cop. Now, this student had all their papers in order, except for the Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate and insurance, which had expired. The officer, feeling all high and mighty, decided to slap them with a hefty fine of ₹4,500.

But here’s where things take a turn for the worse. The student couldn’t cough up that kind of cash on the spot, so they asked for some time to sort things out. Instead of being understanding, the officer demanded ₹700 in cash right then and there, threatening to seize the motorcycle if they didn’t comply. Talk about a power trip!

After a trip to the ATM and some shady dealings in a secluded area, the student handed over the cash without getting so much as a receipt. And get this – they saw other folks going through the same ordeal, hinting at a whole lot of corruption going on behind the scenes.

The student wasn’t about to let this slide, though. They fired off a complaint to the Pimpri Chinchwad Police and even looped in Punekar News for good measure. They attached some solid evidence too, like a screenshot of the transaction and a detailed account of the incident.

Now, the student isn’t just sitting back and twiddling their thumbs. They’ve called for an investigation into the matter, disciplinary action against the officer, and tighter oversight to prevent this kind of nonsense from happening again.

When reached for comment, Police Inspector Sunil Pinjan seemed to be in the dark about the whole thing but promised to look into it. DCP (Traffic) Bapu Bangar chimed in, assuring everyone that the incident would be thoroughly investigated and dealt with.

This whole mess is a stark reminder of why we need transparency in law enforcement. It’s time for the authorities to step up, root out corruption, and earn back the public’s trust. Let’s hope they do right by the people of Wakad.
