The Jedhe Social Welfare Foundation and the Indrani Balan Foundation recently organized a one-of-a-kind event in Pune that combined the traditional Dahi Handi celebration with a modern twist. The event, known as “Cycle Dahi Handi,” took place at Jedhe Mansion and saw young Balgopals breaking a Dahi Handi tied to 100 bicycles. The bicycles were later distributed to underprivileged children from various areas in Pune.

Local figures such as entrepreneur Punit Balan, Additional Commissioner of Police Praveen Patil, former Minister of State for Home Ramesh Bagwe, and Ex-MLA Mohan Joshi attended the event and showed their support for the noble initiative. Punit Balan highlighted the work of the Indrani Balan Foundation in distributing bicycles to students in need, with plans to distribute even more in the future.

Additional Commissioner of Police Praveen Patil commended the innovative event, stating that celebrating festivals in a constructive way brings joy, especially to children in rural areas who benefit from such initiatives. Former MLA Mohan Joshi also praised the event for its focus on social welfare and benefiting children in society.

Organizer Kanhoji Jedhe emphasized the foundation’s commitment to innovation and social responsibility, noting that they strive to do something new and meaningful each year. Last year, they distributed toys through a Toy Dahi Handi event, and this year, they continued their efforts by providing bicycles to children in need.
