Dana India has recently completed a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Pune’s Chakan area, aimed at enhancing road safety infrastructure. The initiatives include the installation of solar-powered streetlights, traffic regulation measures, road divider railings, and street lighting upgrades.
The solar-powered streetlights installed at Alandi Phata Chowk have significantly improved visibility and reduced accident risks for around 3,600 residents and travelers. The deployment of road safety signage and metal barricades in the industrial area of Chakan has benefited approximately 2.5 lakh daily commuters, making the region safer and more organized.
Furthermore, road divider railings have been installed at critical intersections such as Endurance Chowk, ensuring enhanced safety for over 3 lakh individuals passing through these points. The upgrades to street lighting in the Chakan Industrial Area and Endurance Chowk have also improved road safety for an estimated 3 lakh individuals traveling through these areas.
These initiatives not only focus on road safety but also contribute to broader sustainability objectives. They align with multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, showcasing Dana India’s commitment to fostering long-term environmental and societal impact.
Gajanan Gandhe, Country Head and Vice President of Dana India, emphasized the importance of these initiatives in improving road safety and promoting sustainability in the Chakan community. Dana India is dedicated to driving meaningful change and enhancing the quality of life for the people of Pune while supporting the global sustainability agenda.
