The kitchen will be a game-changer, not just for nutrition and education, but also for creating jobs and supporting local agriculture. The groundbreaking ceremony was a star-studded affair, with bigwigs like Mr. Kaushik Shaparia from Deutsche Bank and Shri Shridhar Venkat from The Akshaya Patra Foundation in attendance.
Mr. Shaparia emphasized the importance of collaboration in creating lasting social impact, while Mr. Venkat highlighted the milestone this project represents in their mission to eradicate classroom hunger in Pune. Deutsche Bank has been supporting Akshaya Patra’s meal programs since 2014, and they’re not stopping anytime soon – they’re also funding meals for 2,000 children in Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad.
