Dr. Ajay Tawre and Dr. Shri Hari Harnor, who are associated with Sassoon Hospital, were taken into custody by the Pune Crime Branch for manipulating the blood alcohol content results to protect the accused. This revelation has sparked nationwide outrage and brought the case under intense public scrutiny.
In a related development, the teenager’s grandfather has also been arrested on charges of coercing the family driver to falsely admit to driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. It is alleged that both the father and grandfather of the accused used pressure and bribery to manipulate the course of the investigation.
The driver, who initially claimed to be behind the wheel during the accident, was reportedly taken to the family’s bungalow where he was confined and threatened. He was promised money and rewards in exchange for taking the blame, but his wife managed to free him the next day.
