Dr. Kulkarni praised Vajpayee as a “great son of India” and a “quintessential democrat.” He emphasized Vajpayee’s belief in cooperation over confrontation in democracy, highlighting his concept of “Coalition Dharma” and his efforts to build harmonious Centre-state relations.
The speaker also noted Vajpayee’s commitment to “positive secularism” and taking every section of society along. He recalled Vajpayee’s efforts to normalize ties with Pakistan, including the historic Lahore bus yatra, and his approach to the Kashmir issue rooted in consultation and humanism.

In his welcome address, PIC President Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar praised Vajpayee’s contributions to highway development, IT, and telecom. He also introduced Dr. Kulkarni’s book to the audience.
