Hey there, folks. Here’s a heartbreaking update from Wagholi that will surely tug at your heartstrings. On Monday night, tragedy struck near Kesnand Phata when a dumper ran over nine sleeping workers on the sidewalk. The devastating crash claimed the lives of three individuals, including two young children, and left six others in critical condition.

The victims, who had traveled from the Amravati district in search of work, were struck by the speeding dumper. The owner, Anil Kate, has been arrested on charges of negligence as it was revealed that the driver, Gajanan Shankar Totre, was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Totre, a resident of Kesanand, had a history of drinking and unloading goods in Awhalwadi before consuming alcohol while driving the dumper. Despite knowing about Totre’s habits, Kate allowed him to operate the vehicle, ultimately leading to the tragic incident.

Senior Police Inspector Pandit Rejitwad of the Wagholi Police Station emphasized Kate’s failure to ensure the driver’s sobriety, stating that it was a key factor in the accident. The three deceased victims were laid to rest in Amravati, with the authorities providing transportation for their bodies and families.

Currently, the six injured workers are receiving treatment at Sassoon Hospital as the authorities continue their investigation into the case. Stay tuned for more updates on this heartbreaking incident.
