So, how did this all start? Well, it turns out that Viacom18 Media Pvt Limited filed a complaint with the Nodal Cyber Police, Mumbai, accusing Fairplay of causing them losses of over Rs. 100 Crore. The complaint was no joke, as it included sections of the IPC, IT Act, and Copyright Act. It seems like Fairplay was playing dirty, folks.
But wait, there’s more! The ED’s investigation uncovered some pretty sketchy stuff. Apparently, Fairplay was making deals with foreign entities in Dubai and Curacao, using Indian agencies to promote their services. The investigation also revealed that Fairplay was playing a shell game with bank accounts, funneling funds through bogus and shell accounts, and then moving them around to pharmaceutical companies and overseas entities in Hong Kong, China, and Dubai. It’s like something out of a crime thriller!
