Hey there, folks! Here’s some news straight from Wadgaon Budruk for you. So, it seems like things have been heating up near the Navale Bridge area on the Katraj-Dehu Road Bypass of the Mumbai-Bengaluru National Highway. Eight women have found themselves in hot water as a case under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act of 1956 has been registered against them for allegedly being involved in prostitution.

Apparently, the women were causing quite a stir with their obscene gestures and were causing trouble for the residents in the area. The police decided to take action after receiving complaints from the citizens. It’s reported that these women were spotted standing by the roadside and engaging in prostitution, which made the residents uncomfortable, especially women passing through the area.

Residents had been urging the Sinhagad Road Police to do something about the situation, but initially, no action was taken. However, after continuous complaints and follow-ups, the police finally took action and registered a case against the eight women. Police Sub-Inspector Suresh Jaybhaye reported the incident to the Sinhagad Road Police Station, highlighting the harassment faced by citizens due to the obscene gestures made by the women at night.

A police team led by Senior Police Inspector Raghavendra Singh Kshirsagar detained the women, and now Police Inspector (Crime) Uttam Bhajanawale is investigating the case. It’s worth noting that in the past, women involved in prostitution were sent to reformatory institutions for rehabilitation, as they were seen as victims. However, this time, the police are taking a different approach in response to citizen complaints, aiming to curb illegal activities in the Navale Bridge area.

So, there you have it – a bit of drama unfolding in Wadgaon Budruk. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
