Hey folks, exciting news coming from Sinhagad Road in Pune! The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is making some big moves to address the flooding issues that have been plaguing the residents of Ekta Nagari. Remember the flooding that happened five months ago due to the water release from the Khadakwasla dam during the monsoon? Well, PMC has a plan to relocate the affected residents and implement a cluster development project to prevent future flooding.
After the heavy rains in July that caused water to enter buildings in Ekta Nagari and surrounding societies, the then-Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, along with other political figures, visited the area and ordered a special plan for rehabilitation. PMC Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale appointed a committee to study the flood situation and, based on their recommendations, decided to relocate and redevelop Ekta Nagari.
Now, the PMC has identified a site behind the planned police station in the same area for the relocation project. The necessary process has already begun, and work is expected to be completed soon, providing much-needed relief to the residents. City Engineer Prashant Waghmare is confident that the project will be executed swiftly once it receives approval from the state government.
So, good news for the residents of Ekta Nagari on Sinhagad Road – help is on the way to prevent future flooding and ensure a safer living environment for everyone. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
