Hey Pune peeps, did you hear about the recent spate of jewellery thefts targeting elderly women in various neighbourhoods? It seems like the thieves are getting bolder and more brazen in their attempts to snatch valuables.
In Baner’s Shivneri Apartments, two thieves on motorcycles stole a mangalsutra worth Rs. 43,000 from a 65-year-old woman. The Baner Police are on the case, trying to track down the culprits responsible for this heinous act.
But the thefts didn’t stop there. In Karve Nagar’s Navasahyadri Society, thieves not only stole a mangalsutra from an elderly woman but returned to retrieve a broken piece of the jewellery. The whole incident was caught on CCTV, showing the victim falling on the road during the assault.
And in Kothrud, on DP Road, another woman fell victim to these thieves as they snatched her jewellery inside her society premises while she and her husband were returning home. The thieves made a quick getaway on their motorcycle, leaving the residents shaken and worried about their safety.
With these incidents on the rise, residents are demanding increased police patrols and enhanced security measures in residential areas to put a stop to this alarming trend. Let’s hope the authorities can catch these thieves soon and bring justice to the victims. Stay safe, Pune!
