The Empress Botanical Garden in Camp was abuzz with creativity and talent on Sunday, January 12, 2025, as around 900 to 1,000 children participated in the annual painting and handwriting competition. The event, which was free of charge, provided a platform for young artists from across Pune to showcase their skills.

The children were divided into two age groups, with different topics to explore. The younger group, aged 5 to 10, delved into themes like “Flower Pot,” “Clock,” and “My Favorite Animal,” while the older group, aged 11 to 15, showcased their creativity on topics such as “Different Professions,” “Sunrise/Sunset,” and “Art Room.” With around 11 schools participating from various parts of Pune, the event was a lively gathering of budding artists.

Empress Botanical Garden Honorary Secretary Suresh Pingle, Honorary Joint Secretary Anupama Barve, and Yashwant Khaire were present at the event. Pingle expressed his joy at the turnout and announced that the winners would be awarded during the concluding day of the Flower Exhibition on January 27, 2025.

Overall, the competition was a great success, celebrating the artistic talents of children in Pune and providing them with a platform to express themselves creatively.
