Get ready for some intense wrestling action coming to Pune this February! The Hindu Garjana Chashak Women’s and Men’s State-level Wrestling Competitions 2025, organized by the Hindu Garjana Pratishthan and Punit Balan Group (PBG), will take place from February 7 to 9. With a total prize amount of Rs 45 lakh up for grabs, the stakes are high for the competitors.
In a recent press conference, PBG President Punit Balan and Hindu Garjana Pratishthan President Dheeraj Ramchandra Ghate shared all the exciting details about the upcoming contests. The competitions, which are being held in collaboration with the Shikshan Prasarak Mandali, have received recognition from the Maharashtra Rajya Kustigir Sangh and the Pune Zilha Kustigir Sangh.
Fans can catch all the action at the SP College Ground on Tilak Road, where wrestlers will go head-to-head in various categories. The open category winners will walk away with a Mahindra Thar SUV, a silver mace, and a cash prize of Rs 2.51 lakh. The top junior wrestlers from Pune city and district will also have the chance to compete for impressive cash prizes and trophies.
The tournaments will kick off with an inauguration by DyCM Ajit Pawar, followed by appearances from State Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil and State Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Dattatraya Bharne. Spectators can look forward to a thrilling show bout between renowned Irani wrestlers Mirza and Ali, as well as the presence of Hind Kesari and Maharashtra Kesari title holders.
With two mud wrestling arenas and seating for up to 10,000 spectators, the SP College Ground is set to be buzzing with excitement. Wrestlers will be provided with lodging and boarding facilities, ensuring a seamless experience for all participants.
