Warje, 3rd October 2024: Shocking news has emerged from Pune, where a 35-year-old man has been arrested for the heinous crime of raping his own minor daughter. The victim, an 11-year-old girl with four sisters, showed incredible courage by speaking out during a ‘Good Touch Bad Touch’ initiative at her school.
According to reports, the victim’s mother and father allegedly physically abused her, adding another layer of horror to this tragic story. The headmistress of the victim’s school wasted no time in filing a complaint with the Warje Malwadi Police Station, leading to the arrest of the father under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act of 2012.
The victim, a student at an English medium school in Warje, detailed the horrifying abuse she had endured at the hands of her father. She revealed that he would watch obscene videos on her mother’s phone and then recreate those scenes with her, causing her immense pain and trauma.
The brave girl also disclosed how her father would assault her on the terrace at night, while the rest of the family slept. When her mother was away, he took advantage of the situation to rape her repeatedly. The mother’s complacency in the matter was evident when teachers discovered obscene videos on her phone and questioned her about the abuse.
In a chilling turn of events, the father visited the school and threatened the victim, warning her not to speak out about the abuse. Thankfully, the girl confided in a social worker, leading to immediate action by the school authorities and police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Sambhaji Kadam assured swift action in the case, with the father being remanded to police custody. This horrific incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of creating a safe space for children to speak out against abuse and ensuring that perpetrators face the full extent of the law.
