It was a tumultuous day in Kondhwa as former MP Imtiaz Jaleel found himself in hot water with the law. The Kondhwa Police Station registered a case against Jaleel following allegations of inciting a religious dispute. The complaint was filed by Mahesh Bhoibar, a 28-year-old resident of the area.
The incident reportedly took place during a rally where Sambhaji Maharaj was allegedly defamed and insulted. Jaleel allegedly urged the crowd to deface the name Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on a board marking the ‘Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Jalna’ highway.
Following the incident, members of various Hindu organizations gathered at the Kondhwa Police Station to express their grievances against Jaleel. The case was registered late that night by the Kondhwa police.
Senior Police Inspector Vinay Patankar stated, “In light of the public sentiment, a case has been registered against Jaleel. The protesters claim that Sambhaji Maharaj’s photo was defaced on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Jalna road. An investigation will be conducted accordingly.”
