The incident at the City Post Office premises in Pune caused quite a stir as a recycler suction machine fell into a hole after clearing a drainage blockage. The driver of the machine managed to escape unharmed, thankfully.
Officials from the Pune Municipal Corporation’s Fire Brigade and Ward Office, along with Deputy Commissioner Dr. Chetana Kerure, quickly responded to the situation. Two cranes were brought in to retrieve the 15-ton machine from the 20-foot-deep pit, with assistance from the traffic police to ensure smooth traffic flow in the area.
After successfully removing the machine and a two-wheeler from the pit, Pune Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale announced that a thorough investigation would be conducted to determine the cause of the incident.
