Former IAS Officer Puja Khedkar is in hot water after the UPSC canceled her candidature due to various controversies. She has filed a legal challenge against the UPSC in the Delhi High Court, claiming that the decision was unfair. The UPSC issued her a show-cause notice, which she failed to respond to by the deadline. As a result, she has been permanently barred from all future examinations.

One of the allegations against Khedkar is that she submitted a fake disability certificate to the UPSC. The UPSC reviewed data of thousands of recommended candidates and found that Khedkar had violated exam rules by using fake certificates. Despite being given an extension to respond to the show-cause notice, Khedkar did not provide a satisfactory explanation, leading to the cancellation of her candidature.

The UPSC has stated that it will be enhancing its procedures to prevent similar issues in the future. It clarifies that it only conducts preliminary scrutiny of certificates and does not verify their authenticity. Khedkar’s petition challenging the UPSC’s decision is now before the Delhi High Court, and there is a possibility of police action against her in the future.
