Shocking news out of Pune today as former NCP corporator Vanraj Andekar was tragically shot and killed in the Nana Peth area. Reports say he sustained five gunshot wounds and was rushed to KEM Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Local authorities suspect that this shooting may be linked to a long-standing gang rivalry in the area. The Andekar family, known for their involvement in gang-related activities, has a history of trouble with the law. Just recently, Vanraj’s father, Bandu Andekar, was charged under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) along with six others, though he was later released on bail.

Investigators are looking into the possibility that the shooter may have been a close relative or associate of the victim, based on early leads. As more information comes to light, we will continue to provide updates on this developing story.
