1. Former Pune Zilla Parishad Chairman, Mangaldas Bandal, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after raids on his properties in Shikrapur, Burunjwadi, and Mohammadwadi.
  2. The ED seized several documents and obtained information on Bandal’s bank accounts during the raids.
  3. Bandal had also faced action from the Income Tax Department, with raids conducted at his homes in Shikrapur and Mohammadwadi.
  4. Pune Police implicated Bandal under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act of 1999 for allegedly threatening a bullion businessman.
  5. Bandal was also involved in the embezzlement case of the Shivajirao Bhosale Sahakari Bank Limited.
  6. Despite being nominated by the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) for Lok Sabha elections, Bandal’s candidacy was canceled due to his criminal background.
  7. Sources indicate that Bandal is now gearing up to contest the Shirur Constituency in the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections.
