Hey Pune folks, here’s some juicy news for you! Four builders in the city have recently been booked for some shady business involving a flat in Koregaon Park.
So, this all went down between August 2014 and October 2016 at the Marvel Basilo housing project. A gentleman named Sunny Francis Jacob, who lives in Bund Garden, wasn’t too happy about the situation and decided to file a complaint at the Koregaon Park Police Station.
The builders in question are Vijay Vasudev Wadhwa, Sanjay Rajkumar Chhabria, Naveen Amarlal Makhija, and Vishwajit Subhash Zawar. They’ve been booked under some serious sections of the IPC and the Maharashtra Ownership of Flats Act. Yikes!
According to the complaint, Jacob’s friend Shyam Asnani and his daughter had booked a flat in the Marvel Basilo project along with two parking spots for a hefty sum of Rs 3,19,25,500. Asnani paid most of the amount through RTGS and cheques, but the builders didn’t hold up their end of the deal.
Not only did they fail to finish the project on time, but they also allegedly mortgaged the flat to a finance company without Asnani and his daughter knowing. Talk about a major breach of trust!
