Market Yard in Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji witnessed a bustling day as the wholesale market saw a slight increase in the arrival of fruits and vegetables compared to the previous week. Prices of some commodities like green chillies, red chillies, ginger, and flowers have dropped, while sugarcane prices have seen a hike. Traders confirmed that most other fruits and vegetables maintained stable prices.
Approximately 100 trucks loaded with fruits and vegetables arrived on Sunday from Maharashtra and other states. Notable arrivals included green chillies from Karnataka, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh, cabbage from Karnataka and Gujarat, carrots from Rajasthan, peas from Madhya Pradesh, shevga from Andhra Pradesh, bell peppers, and potatoes from Indore and Agra.
Commission agent Vilas Bhujbal shared that the market saw arrivals of onions, tomatoes, and groundnut pods in significant quantities. Prices of leafy greens like fenugreek, onion, radish, and chukka have decreased, while coriander, spinach, and mint maintained stable prices.
The fruit market also saw a good influx of mosambi, oranges, pomegranates, watermelon, lemons, papaya, and custard apples. Prices remained stable for most fruits, including watermelon, melon, custard apple, pineapple, mosambi, orange, pomegranate, guava, and chiku.
Overall, the Market Yard was buzzing with activity as traders and buyers navigated through the arrivals and fluctuations in prices of various fruits and vegetables.
