Education officials in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad are raising concerns about the low response from students to the central online admission process for FYJC admissions this year.

Enrollment numbers show that only 92,797 students have registered for the 1,19,290 available seats in the Pune region, indicating a significant drop in enrollment compared to previous years.

One student, Shruti Patankar, has opted for a diploma course in computer engineering at a private university instead of traditional Class 11 admission, reflecting the changing career aspirations of today’s youth.

The preliminary merit list of students who have completed the admission process is set to be released on June 18, marking an important milestone in the ongoing admission process.

To be considered for the initial merit list, students must have completed both Part I and Part II of the application form by the June 15 deadline. It is crucial for students to secure admission in their first-choice college as per their preference order to remain eligible for subsequent rounds of admissions.

After the release of the preliminary merit list, students can raise objections between June 18 and June 21 through the grievance redressal system on the website. The final merit list of admissions is scheduled for release on June 27, with confirmed students having until July 1 to complete the admission process as per the education department’s circular.
