The Ganpati Festival is making its mark in Kashmir Valley for the second year in a row, thanks to the efforts of seven Manache Ganpati mandals from Pune. This initiative, led by Young Entrepreneur Punit Balan, aims to spread the message of peace and prosperity through the celebration of Ganeshotsav in the Valley.

Last year, a Ganesh idol was installed at the Ganpatyar Mandir in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk for a one-and-a-half day celebration. This year, the festivities will be extended to Kupwara and Anantnag, with replicas of three Manache Ganpati idols from Pune – Tambdi Jogeshwari, Guruji Talim, and Tulshibaug – being handed over to mandals in the Valley.

The significance of this initiative lies in the cultural exchange and the message of unity it conveys. By bringing the Ganpati Festival to Kashmir after a hiatus of 34 years, the organizers hope to foster a sense of camaraderie and goodwill among people from different regions of India.

Punit Balan, the Celebration Chief and Trustee of Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust, expressed his happiness and gratitude for being a part of this initiative. He believes that with the blessings of Ganpati Bappa, Kashmir will see a new era of peace and prosperity.

The handover of the Ganpati idols to the mandals in Kashmir will take place on Saturday, marking a significant step towards cultural integration and mutual understanding. The organizers are confident that this initiative will further strengthen the bond between Pune and Kashmir, paving the way for a brighter future for both regions.
