The grand celebration of Ganeshotsav in Pune and across Maharashtra is coming to an end today on Anant Chaturdashi. Devotees are gearing up to bid a heartfelt farewell to Lord Ganesha as preparations for the immersion procession are in full swing. Public Ganpati Mandals and activists are all set for processions in various cities including Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, Nagpur, Solapur, and Kolhapur.

In Pune, the Ganpati immersion processions will be taking place throughout the city today with tight security measures in place. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has ensured that all necessary arrangements are made for the smooth conduct of the processions, focusing on the health and safety of citizens.

The first five Manache Ganpati from Laxmi Road will kick off the procession, followed by other Ganpati Mandals marching through designated routes. The iconic Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandal procession is set to begin at 4 PM. A large force of 6,500 police personnel, including women’s safety teams, will be deployed for crowd control and security.

Help centers have been set up at various locations to assist devotees and citizens attending the immersion, with watchtowers monitoring the processions for maintaining order. Lifeguards and medical teams are also stationed at the immersion ghats to ensure the safety of everyone present.

The vibrant preparations by the Dhol-Tasha teams, Shankhnad, Tipri, and Lazeem groups have been drawing attention, with beautifully decorated chariots and thematic scenes spreading religious and social messages. Artists at Laxmi Road and Belbag Chowk are creating rangoli designs promoting awareness about cybercrime.

Efforts are also being made to maintain the immersion ghats, manage iron tanks, handle organic offerings, ensure proper electrical systems, and implement effective waste management practices at the immersion sites. Overall, this year’s Ganeshotsav procession is expected to conclude earlier than in previous years, showcasing the spirit and enthusiasm of the devotees in Pune.
