Are you tired of waiting for your hard-earned money to be paid? Well, you’re not alone! Government contractors in Pune are fed up with the delay in clearing their pending bills, totaling a whopping ₹46,000 crore. That’s a lot of money just sitting there, gathering dust!
To show their frustration, contractors took matters into their own hands and staged a unique protest outside the Chief Engineer’s office in Pune. They even brought a dumper truck and performed a ritual plea to the deity Potraj, hoping for a miracle to get their payments cleared.
Prominent figures in the contractor community, such as Ravindra Bhosale and Baba Gunjate, made their voices heard during the protest. They warned that if the government doesn’t allocate funds in the upcoming budget session, all ongoing works across the state will come to a screeching halt.
With the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections looming, contractors are feeling the pinch of financial difficulties. They’re hoping that Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will come through with special budgetary provisions to finally clear their dues. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for a positive outcome for these hardworking contractors!
