Good news for devotees and commuters in Pune! The Hazrat Nizamuddin Goa Express will now halt at Jejuri railway station starting in April. This decision comes after efforts by local activists and railway passengers association members.

Jejuri, known for its pilgrimage site dedicated to Lord Khandoba, attracts devotees from various states like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. The lack of stoppages for major trains at Jejuri station has been a major inconvenience for pilgrims and industrial workers in the area.

The extension of the Sahyadri Express to Mumbai is also in the works, providing more connectivity options for passengers traveling between Pune and Kolhapur.

While the new stoppage for Hazrat Nizamuddin Goa Express is a welcome change, other superfast trains like Vande Bharat Express and Delhi-Goa Express continue to bypass Jejuri. Local representatives are calling for more halts for these key trains to improve accessibility for residents and workers.

Additionally, the construction of an underpass on the Shri Khandoba palanquin procession route is being proposed to ensure the safety of devotees during the annual gathering at Jejuri.

Overall, the decision to halt the Hazrat Nizamuddin Goa Express at Jejuri is seen as a positive development for the region, promising better rail connectivity and convenience for all.
