Hey there, folks! It’s been a busy week in Maharashtra with the government’s latest directive for charitable hospitals and medical colleges to organize free community health camps. Yep, you heard that right – free health camps! These institutions have been asked to roll up their sleeves and head out to slums and rural areas for the next two months.

But hold up, there’s a catch. The number of camps to be organized depends on the size of the healthcare facility. Hospitals with over 100 beds have to conduct a whopping 40 camps, while those with 50 to 100 beds are looking at 30 camps. And if you’re at a facility with fewer than 50 beds, you’re still expected to organize 20 camps. Talk about a busy schedule!

Meanwhile, Dr. Sanjay Patil from the Hospital Board of India’s Pune Chapter has some interesting insights to share. Apparently, general practitioners in Pune are seeing a rise in cases of chikungunya and dengue. Serious cases are being sent to private hospitals, but guess what? They’re running out of beds too! To make matters worse, hospital staff members are falling ill as well, causing a shortage of both beds and personnel.

Phew, it sounds like a tough situation out there. Let’s hope these health camps can provide some much-needed relief to the community. Stay safe and take care, everyone!
