Hey there Pune peeps! Looks like Mother Nature decided to make up for lost time with a massive downpour in our city yesterday. With a whopping 124 mm of rain in just two hours, we pretty much hit the jackpot in terms of September rainfall.
But don’t get too comfortable with your umbrellas just yet, because the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Pune city and district today. Brace yourselves for some more wet weather with moderate to heavy rains, gales, and thundershowers on the horizon.
Yesterday, the skies turned ominous around 3 pm and by 4 pm, it was a full-blown rain fest. Chinchwad and Shivajinagar took the brunt of it with 127.5 mm and 124 mm of rain respectively. Other areas like Vadgaon Sheri, Koregaon Park, and NDA also saw a fair share of rainfall.
Surprisingly, the rural areas of the district didn’t get as much rain, with places like Narayangaon and Baramati recording significantly lower amounts. But hey, every drop counts, right?
So, grab your raincoats and stay safe out there, Pune! Looks like we’re in for a wet and wild ride.
