Hey Pune folks, it looks like the rain has finally decided to grace us with its presence! After a dry spell, our dams in the area received a good amount of rainfall yesterday, giving them a much-needed boost in water levels. The Khadakwasla dam chain, which plays a crucial role in supplying water to Pune, recorded over 30 mm of rainfall.

But don’t get too excited just yet, as today there was no rain in sight. It seems like the monsoon is playing hard to get with us again.

For the past few days, Pune has been facing a shortage of rainfall, despite it being monsoon season. However, things seem to be looking up now as the monsoon has become active once again, leading to increased rainfall. This is great news for us, as the decreasing dam storage was starting to raise concerns about water scarcity in the city.

The heavy rains are expected to continue in the dam catchment areas, with some areas already experiencing drizzle on Monday. This has significantly boosted the reservoir levels in the dams. Here’s a quick look at the rainfall recorded in some of the major dams on Monday:
– Temghar Dam: 38 mm
– Varasgaon Dam: 34 mm
– Panshet Dam: 36 mm
– Khadakwasla Dam: 34 mm

So, it looks like we can breathe a sigh of relief for now. Let’s hope the rain continues to shower blessings on us and keeps our dams filled to the brim! Stay safe and dry, Pune!
