Hey there, folks in Pune! Looks like the weather is going to keep us on our toes for the next couple of days. The IMD has predicted heavy rains in the coastal and Western Ghats areas, but don’t worry, the coastal rainfall is expected to ease up by Friday.

So far, light rains have been hitting Maharashtra, with a low-pressure system over East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh transforming into a cyclonic system, reducing rainfall in Vidarbha. However, there’s still a low-pressure belt along the coast, so coastal regions can expect more rain.

A red alert has been issued for Raigad and Satara for Wednesday, while an orange alert is in place for Nashik, Pune, and other coastal districts. The heavy rainfall is mainly expected in coastal and Western Ghats areas, with Madhya Maharashtra seeing a decrease in rain intensity (except for the Ghat areas) from Friday.

In the last 24 hours, Tamhini got soaked with 270 mm of rain, while Talsari in Palghar received 200 mm. For Wednesday, here’s what the alerts look like:
– Red Alert: Raigad, Satara
– Orange Alert: Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri, Pune, Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Nashik
– Yellow Alert: Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon, Chandrapur, Wardha, Nagpur, Amravati

So, stay safe and dry, Pune! Keep those umbrellas handy and be prepared for the rain. Let’s hope for clearer skies soon!
