It was chaos in Kharadi as over 130 homebuyers of the Vertillas residential project took to the streets in protest against developer Arman Kothari. The buyers, who have been waiting for possession since 2013 when the project was first launched as Le Reve, claim they have been deceived and left in the lurch.

Despite promises of possession by June 2024 and collecting almost all payments by January 2024, construction progress has been minimal, leaving buyers frustrated and without answers. Dr. Supriya Pendke expressed her disappointment, stating that the project has turned into a nightmare with stalled construction and financial burdens.

For Prakash Tewary, who saved for years to buy a home in Kharadi, the delay has been devastating. The false promises made by the builder have left many buyers in financial distress, forcing them to pay both high EMIs and rent. The buyers hope that their peaceful protest will push the authorities to take action and hold the builder accountable for their actions.

Adv. Paresh T. Thorat, a flat purchaser, shed light on the history of the project and the deceptive practices of the developer. He mentioned that despite numerous complaints filed with the RERA Authority, the builder continues to evade responsibility and take advantage of legal loopholes. With over 75 complaints filed against the promoter, buyers are frustrated with the lack of progress and accountability.

The builder has yet to respond to the allegations, leaving buyers in a state of uncertainty and frustration. The buyers are calling for swift action from the authorities to ensure justice is served and their grievances are addressed.
