Hey Pune peeps, it looks like the Khadakwasla Dam is making some waves (literally) with its increased water discharge into the Mutha River basin. With all the heavy rainfall we’ve been getting, the dam has already let out a whopping 35,574 cusecs of water today. But hold onto your umbrellas, because that number is about to go up to 40,000 cusecs starting at 6 PM.

Shweta Kurhade, the Executive Engineer at the Khadakwasla Irrigation Department, spilled the beans on the situation. She mentioned that the dam released 35,574 cusecs between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, but they decided to up the ante to 40,000 cusecs due to the crazy rainfall we’ve been having. Talk about a wet and wild time!

Kurhade also hinted that more changes might be on the horizon depending on how much more rain we get. She’s calling for extra caution in certain parts of the city and advising everyone to steer clear of those areas. Safety first, folks!

In response, the Pune Municipal Corporation is gearing up to handle the situation like a boss. They’re urging residents to keep an eye on updates and avoid any places that might get drenched by the increased water flow. So, stay informed and stay dry out there, Pune!
