Pune witnessed a historic event recently with the first inaugural global Korean Speech contest organized by The Indo Korean Center, King Sejong Institute Pune. The event also saw the inauguration of the Career Development Center (CDC) by Dooshik Kim, Deputy Consul of Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Mumbai.

Chirag Jaladi, Tanu Mishra, and Savani Rajpathak took the top three spots in the contest, with Tanvi Joshi and Neha Kulkarni winning the consolation prize. The winners were awarded certificates, trophies, and LG products, with first and second place winners receiving LG TVs and the third-place winner receiving an LG Microwave. Two consolation prize winners received LG Wireless Earbuds. The judging panel included esteemed individuals from LG Electronics, a Korean Language School in Pune, and Woori Bank.

Distinguished guests from renowned Korean companies and universities, as well as representatives from various Indian organizations, were present at the event. The Indo-Korean fusion dance and traditional Korean singing performances added to the cultural exchange and celebration.

Dr. Eunjoo Lim highlighted the opportunities for Korean learners in Indian and Korean companies, as well as the welcoming environment for Indian students in Korean universities. The Career Development Center aims to help Indian students pursue opportunities in Korea and build successful careers in their respective fields.

Dooshik Kim emphasized the employment and education opportunities in South Korea, while representatives from POSCO and LG Electronics shared their insights on recruiting candidates. The event was coordinated by Sanjib Ghatak, showcasing the strong bonds between Indian and Korean cultures and the potential for collaboration and growth in various fields.
